Did you know that there are 6.5 million unpaid Carers in the UK and 1.2 million Carers out there who don’t even recognise themselves as Carers? We all need to help support Carers and Make Care Visible.
Carers hold families together, they look after the elderly, mentally ill, disabled and seriously ill. They enable their loved ones to live life to the fullest, often making huge personal sacrifices.
For some taking on a caring role is sudden. Someone in their family has an accident or a child is born with a disability. For others it is a more gradual process. Their parents cannot manage as well as they use to or their partner or child’s condition deteriorates over time.
Life of a Carer
Caring can be satisfying, rewarding, educational and challenging. It can also be emotionally and physically overwhelming, lead to ill health, financial difficulties and social isolation, this could not be truer than now during the Covid-19 pandemic.
For these very reasons Carers Week this year is focusing on ‘Making Care Visible’.
Here at Regiment Training we want to offer our support to Carers across the United Kingdom and further afield. We can offer some valuable online training courses to broaden a Carers skill base and boost their confidence. Our online courses include, but are not limited to, Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding, Dignity & Privacy, Dementia Awareness, Diabetes Awareness, End of Life Care, Introduction to Safe Handling of Medication and Person Centred Care. For a full list of courses available or to contact us please visit the website www.regimentfirstaidtraining.co.uk
During this Carers Week remember…….
As a Carer it is just as important to look after yourself as well as your loved one. As friends of Carers, it is our responsibility to make sure Carers get the support they need.
This week take the time to reach out and Make Care Visible.
